Introduction to Finishing Systems and Techniques

November 16 @ 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM

$100.00
A kitchen with white cabinets and wooden floors

Our Intro to Finishing Systems and Techniques is an entry-level class designed to demonstrate commonly industrial spray equipment and best practices for production finishing.
We will have class attendees set up, spray and tear down the four most popular finishing systems available.
• HVLP (Pnuematic) – We will use a gravity gun and compressed air to apply a variety of medium viscosity waterbourne coatings, best for small jobs in a shop setting
• HVLP (Turbine) – We will use a gravity gun and turbine compressed air to apply a variety of medium viscosity waterbourne coatings, best for refinishing in on-premise settings
• Airless – We will use an airless sprayer to apply medium to heavy viscosity waterbourne coatings, best for refinishing on premise, or for fast production in a shop setting
• Air Assisted Airless – We will use an AAA system to apply medium to heavy viscosity waterbourne coatings, best for large scale production in a shop setting
Our instructors will go through the positive attributes, and any potential shortcomings, of each spray system. Class attendees will have as much time “on the gun” with each system. Instructors will also assist in refining spray technique and offer industry specific tips for achieving a fine finish, optimal yield and reducing labor.
Classes are held monthly (depending on demand) from October to May
